All of the software I install and use cause the game to pause. Clearly this won't work...
What works for everyone else?
I'm running Win7 on the partition I have been playing Jameson on. I don't have access to the default Snipping program because it doesn't come with the cheap version of Win7. I have access to different OSs but believe I would have to restart Jameson to use them.

For static shots I usually just hit PrintScreen, however I'm usually testing it standalone rather than in the browser so that might not work. I also build special screenshot versions of the game that automatically take screenshots every 5 seconds. It chugs something awful, but I prefer to pick from random shots than try to stage them.
For video I use hypercam. This probably has a screenshot mode which may also work for you.

I go with the pro option. Printscreen, paint, crop, dropbox. Easy.

I use the free version of Gadwin Printscreen. Just tested it with Jameson and it doesn't pause the game. Here's the link (the free version is at the bottom): www.gadwin.com/download/It doesn't have any ads or "Please Donate!!!" as far as I can tell (I've used it for about a year I think).

Vaconovat has the right idea. No silly extra programs to muss up data and reduce image quality without telling you. Even if you're on a Mac, you have a preinstalled program called 'Grab' to take screenshots, and you can crop through that or Preview. Right now I'm using a program called Jing that records high quality video from your screen (with sound)

Oh no! I wish I'd heard of Jing before I started my trailer!

It seems that my problems all stem from running Win7 from a partition on my Mac Book Pro. No Print Screen button, and all of the F series keys have very bizarre behavior. I really appreciate all of the suggestions, and will hopefully find a way to successfully bind the Print Screen key to another key combo soon.
EDIT: Finally got it working. I'm finishing a ridiculously long essay for the ship building principles thread and now will be able to add pictures!
