AArrgh! I just lost a ship in a horrible way: I sneezed on the screen, and as i was wiping it off, i hit the backspace key which is a shortcut for 'back' in my browser. Goodbye ship It's not the first ship i've lost to a browser navigation accident: in one of the more ironic previous examples i tried to click off the flash window to pause the game and accidentally hit the link to Farbs' blog. I know a lot of people have suggested improving the way progress is saved to defend against browser crashes, but i'd worried that they'd lead to either 'repetitive reload from save' gameplay, or even worse, 'crash browser to return to save' gameplay. but i'm coming round to the idea that 'something must be done'. Some sites require confirmation of navigation away from pages where you'd loose information. That wouldn't help with crashes but would have helped me. Any other thoughts?

I hope that Farbs is working on a new saving method. I know that there are better methods, like saving at checkpoints, or just a plain old SAVE button in the pause menu (though I believe Farbs disapproves of this). Hmmm, I just got a non-related idea. Maybe I can save the game page so that I can access it while offline.

Huh. It was interesting to find that the swf for Farb's games is incompatible outside of his page. It's a good thing, though. Otherwise, non-supporters might find a way to gain access to what they haven't paid for.
