The mouse wheel no longer does anything, plus even on high everything looks bad. Kind of like it went from sprites to vectors, but the vectors have gone through a resize and it all looks bad.

Thanks for the reports.
Mousewheel support in flash has always been quite flakey. I haven't changed any of the mousewheel code though, so it's odd that it has stopped working for you. Have you recently changed computer, browser, mouse or mouse drivers?
I'm really not sure what you mean about the game looking bad. Can you post a screenshot?

Notice how the crossbars on the lasers are not centered, and the base of them looks awful. Also the boosters look wonky. And the cursor - it is not apparent which way it is pointing. This one looks even worse - notice the crazy angle of the boosters! This only manifests in CJ 0.6. CJ <= 0.5 and CF, CS etc are fine. Also, the pixellated glow behind the ship doesn't look right - especially when you go in or out of an air bubble. I discovered that if I hold CTRL, the mouse wheel works. I have just reinstalled windows, and I am getting the same thing all other captain series games, so I guess it is something my end. Does not appear to be driver related though as I get the same thing if I use a logitech mouse or microsoft mouse.

Oh cheers!
These pictures look like the low graphics quality setting. This does no antialiasing on lines and forces them to draw to discrete pixel boundaries, which is why they look all jagged and wonky. Similarly, the background scaling in low quality mode doesn't smooth between texels, hence the blockiness.
Low quality mode can be useful if your computer is struggling with the game, but otherwise I really don't recommend it. The game should default to medium quality. Can you verify for me that you were setting the VISUAL QUALITY system setting in VMEDS to MEDIUM or HIGH?
Otherwise I'm really not sure what this could be unfortunately. Have you tried updating your flash player?

LOL, OK I was being a dumbass. I *swear* I set it to high, but somehow it was on low. Updating flash had no effect on the mousewheel

Holy crap, this game has a forum?
Anyway I have the same problem now, I just got a wireless mouse for my laptop and the mouse wheel won't zoom in or out at all. It worked before, and lately I've tried multiple different browsers, and it still has the same problem. Is there any way I can fix this?
